Wood River Health Services announces new Board terms and new member


Charlestown resident added, another elected

Robin Devin of Hope Valley was elected to serve a second term as Chairperson of the Wood River Health Services Board of Directors for the Fiscal Year 2018.


Devin, a Health Services Librarian at the University of Rhode Island, has been a member of the board since 2008.


Francis Hopkins of Charlestown was voted Vice-Chair; Gregory Kinney of Rockville was voted treasurer and Regan Pennypacker of Hope Valley will serve a second term as Secretary. 


The Wood River Health Services Board of Directors also elected Keith Swaby of Charlestown to the board.


Mr. Swaby is retired following a 30-year career at Vitol, a global energy and commodity trading company headquartered in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where he served variously as Controller, Treasurer, Vice President and CFO. His areas of focus included accounting, taxation, banking, credit, human resources and regulatory matters.


He received both his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Pace University and was a licensed CPA in New York state from 1977 until 2007. He worked as a CPA for six years prior to signing with Vitol, working at Glenn Ingram and Co., SD Liedsdorf and Ernst & Whinney. 


He currently also serves on the Board of Directors for the Arnolda Improvement Corporation, a homeowners’ association in Charlestown.


Wood River Health Services is the Federally Qualified Community Health Center for southwestern Rhode Island, providing medical and dental care and social services to over 9,000 area residents. 


The center also administers the area WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Nutrition Program, provides a nationally recognized chronic disease management program, has available onsite lab testing in cooperation with Westerly Hospital, including blood work, x-ray and mammography, and provides behavioral and mental health counseling and referrals. 


Sliding scale payments are available to those who qualify.
