Meet the new plate, almost the same as the old plate

It figures that our accidental Governor Dan McKee would pick the blandest possible design for Rhode Island's new license plate. It is perhaps the most uninspiring, border-line ugly design among the five contenders that were put up for a vote by the public.
But McKee says this plate design was the most popular among those who voted though I would really like to see the election results.
Maybe this new plate bodes well for McKee's re-election attempt since he claims the majority wants a new plate that matches him in mediocrity.
I want a recount.
