"Thank You" Florida Residents!

I know a lot of Florida residents also spend a little time, less than 6 months of course, in Rhode Island each year. It was farsighted of them to elect a governor in Florida who would turn down Federal stimulus funding for better train service in the state. Numerous other parts of the U.S. applied to use that money and Rhode Island was one of the winners.

Now Rhode Island will be getting $28 million dollars to make improvements at the Providence and Kingston stations. This will set the stage for the eventual extension of commuter rail to South County.

I love to take the train, when I can, to Boston or New York. I would like to applaud those Florida voters who elected Rick Scott as governor to send money our way.
