Still time to vote!

This morning, the Charlestown Citizens Alliance sent out the following message to its e-mail followers:

Vote Today
Town Hall
8 am to 8 pm

BE INFORMED--here is the budget

Alternative to new beach facilities: Japanese crap-in-a-bag emergency toilet
On bonding $1.19 million to build two new stick built beach facilities with showers, bathrooms and septic systems at Charlestown Town Beach and Blue Shutters Town Beach.

Other political groups may call you and tell you how to vote--we at CCA honor you and know you are intelligent, well informed citizens. Vote how you wish but just get out there an VOTE--it is your RIGHT and your DUTY.

After months of sending out their "Voices of Greed" - anonymous e-mail remarks often containing vicious remarks against people not privileged enough to live within walking distance of the beaches and off-the-charts false statements about the beach facilities proposal - the CCA chooses Election Day to get on its high horse.

If anything, the CCA owes Charlestown voters an apology for (a) putting out so much false information; (b) publishing messages that portray Charlestown as an ignorant and xenophobic place - without comment; (c) not only failing to call out writers of false or ignorant messages, but of allowing them to hide behind the cloak of anonymity and (d) for not having the guts, as the controlling political organization in this town, for taking a clear and principled position on the issues.

If you haven't voted yet, please get yourself down to Town Hall before 8 PM when the polls close, and VOTE. For all the reasons we have laid out over the past several weeks, we urge you to vote YES on Question #2 for decent sanitary facilities at our town beaches.
