Somebody's wish came true.
It could’ve been a lot worse. We didn’t get the massive
flooding Vermont’s been experiencing. In fact, nary a shutter
was blown off of any of the houses down on Charlestown Beach Road, perhaps
thanks to the cheery greetings some folks left for Irene when they boarded up
their windows.
Though someone's patio table did end up in the beach parking lot. If you're missing a table, check down there. It's right where you cross the street as you're leaving the lot to head toward the beach.
Sure, a lot of sand got taken off the beach, but surprisingly little
trash seems to have been left behind for the Coastal
Cleanup on September 17.
Since I seem to be the only bureau of Progressive Charlestown with electricity, I thought I’d share a few snapshots with you all.
Hope you get your power back soon. At least the weather won’t slow National Grid’s work crews down; it’s supposed to be sunny through Sunday.
