Here's another 2-week version of our Things To Do listing:
- Now is the time to get your annual flu shot. Here are three local opportunities: Friday October 14 from 9 am until noon at the Charlestown Senior/Community Center, Friday October 21 from 10 am until noon at Charlestown Town Hall and Thursday November 3 from 9 am until 11 am at St. Andrews Church, 15 East Beach Road.
- The digital photography class continues on Tuesdays through October 25 at 6:30 pm in the Cross Mills Public Library. This is presented by the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association and taught by WPWA member and volunteer, Tom Tetzner. The class is free but class size is limited so registration for each session is recommended.
- On Friday October 14 the Cross Mills Public Library is holding a family movie night starting at 6:30 pm with a free showing of Spooky Buddies.
- On Saturday October 15 the Ninigret Wildlife Refuge is hosting an open house at the Kettle Pond Visitor Center (50 Bend Road) from 10 am until 3 pm
- Also on Saturday October 15 from 10 am until noon at the Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge (1040 Matunuck Schoolhouse Road, South Kingstown) you can go on a walk to look for birds. Winter ducks are settling in at Trustom Pond and geese too. Also, winter forest birds are active; some are year-round residents while others fly "south" to spend the winter in Rhode Island.
- On Saturday October 22 from 10 am until noon the Cross Mills Public Library is hosting Dave Marchetti to provide an amazing hands-on experience with small animals and reptiles.
