Terri Serra, central figure in tragic Chariho car crash, quits school committee

The Providence Journal has just reported that Chariho School Committee woman Terri Serra of Richmond has resigned.
Serra faces criminal charges in Richmond under the state social host law after Chariho students left an under-age drinking party at her house and ended up in a car crash on Route 112 in Carolina. The four students in the car were all injured, two of them critically, though they are reportedly recovering.
Serra also faces charges in Charlestown for failing to give aid to those students. A witness reports that Serra drove up to the crash, got out, screamed at one of the injured boys and got back in her car and left without rendering aid or calling 911.
