PC's First Millennium

Progressive Charlestown publishes its 1000th article
By Will Collette

The previous article by Linda Felaco is #1000 for us. Since the end of February, we have published 1,000 articles on Charlestown politics, food, art and culture. We have covered state, national and international. We have focused heavily on the environment.

We've found ways to provide our readers with a broad range of content from many sources - local and regional guest writers, syndicated columnists, content-sharing, cartoonists and more.

But what we like to do best are local stories, and it is fitting that Linda's story on the surprising reversal of the CCA proposal to gut the state's affordable housing law is a case in point.

We are, as often is the case, the first with this story. I guess I sound a bit like those breathless TV news readers who keep saying every story they broadcast is the first or the exclusive on the topic. But it's a fact that we often get the news to you first and we almost always given you the most in-depth coverage.

So, we just passed our 100,000th hit and now have our 1000th story. I guess I should shut up about this until we hit the next major milestone. Presuming we get there.
