Anonymous Comments Welcome!

… from Town employees
By Will Collette

Town employees have a lot on their minds these days, as the CCA and its two elected Town Council officers, Town Council Boss Tom Gentz and his trusty sidekick and Town Administrator wannabe Council Vice-President Deputy Dan Slattery, seem poised to lop off the heads of some town staff

With the vote of former town Parks & Rec Director and now Council member Lisa DiBello in their pocket, they have the votes to take some pretty nasty actions against town staff.

Normally, anonymous comments are not welcome on Progressive Charlestown, but one automatic exception we are more than willing to grant is to town employees who wish to speak out about what’s going on in Town Hall.

Don't be intimidated by bullies
Most town employees are members of a labor union or professional association. They have protections under their contracts and under state labor law. If town employees have not contacted their union representatives about their rights and about conditions in the workplace, they should.

And they are also welcome to talk about what’s going on, from their unique point of view, in Progressive Charlestown. Any town employee who wishes to be heard – under protection of anonymity – should first e-mail us at progressivecharlestown@gmail.com.

We promise to guard the identities of any town employee who contacts us.

As for others who wish to comment anonymously – well, there’s “Regressive Charlestown,” a.k.a. the Charlestown Citizens Alliance. They love anonymous comments.
