DiBello charity files its annual report, finally

Only seven months late this time
By Will Collette

Last fall, I wrote extensively about a charity called "A Ray of Hope" that Council member Lisa DiBello and her room mate, former town contractor Deborah Dellolio, ran from their home. I noted A Ray of Hope's failure to comply with federal requirements to make its federal annual reports, IRS-990, available to the public.

I also noted that during the 12-year life of A Ray of Hope, DiBello NEVER filed her state annual report on time, drawing several warning letters from the RI Secretary of State and twice, the Secretary of State actually revoked A Ray of Hope's corporate charter.

You would think after this publicity, DiBello would file her 2011 report on time. It was due to be filed no later than July 31, 2011. Did she file? Nope.

However, I am please to report that after receiving her sixth reprimand from the Secretary of State, DiBello filed her 2011 state annual report on March 1. Only seven months late!

Now, if only she would deal with those federal filings....

Here is DiBello's recently filed 2011 annual state annual report:
