Seal release tomorrow morning

Mystic Aquarium will return another rescued, healed seal to the wild
Last October's release of 4-month old "Ares"
By Will Collette

WPRI is reporting that the Mystic Aquarium's Animal Rescue Program plans to release "Valentine," a one-year old Harp Seal who was rescued and taken to the Aquarium when he was found apparently wounded by a shark attack off Moonstone Beach on February 13.

Healed and ready, Valentine will be released at 9 AM at the Charlestown Breachway State Beach tomorrow, Thursday, at 9 AM.

Ares heads for home last October
There seems to be a lot less fanfare attached to this release than there was to last October when "Ares" was released.

That event turned into a nice family-oriented community event as lots of families with kids and wildlife fans came out to give Ares a nice send-off.

Ares was four months old and had been "adopted" by the children who went to the Aquarium for special classes.

The Mystic Aquarium does great work in ministering to sick, injured and stranded marine creatures. They also give great advice on what to do if you encounter a stranded marine creature at the beach.
