Following on the heels of a Sunday Westerly Sun story on the CCA campaign to fire Town Administrator William DiLibero (the "Kill Bill Campaign" for short), the Town Council will meet in Special Session Monday night at 5:30 PM. The agenda, as posted, appears at the end of this article.
Today's Sun article details the Charlestown Citizen Alliance's list of crimes and misdemeanors allegedly committed by DiLibero, such as allowing one of his staff to seek a state grant for dark-sky friendly lights for Ninigret Park that would allow peewee football players six extra hours of playing time per week in the autumn.

But hypocrisy aside, it comes down to votes, and the CCA currently has them on the Town Council. In addition to Slattery, there's current CCA officer and Town Council President, Boss Tom Gentz.
And the two CCA council members have the vote of ethically-challenged Lisa DiBello in their pocket on anything that hurts Bill DiLibero who fired her in May 2010 as Parks & Recreation Director.
Even if they're not going to use this Special Meeting to push the Kill Bill Campaign, it looks like the CCA Council majority plans a new town policy that will require detailed micro-management of the town, above and beyond years of precedent.
Perhaps all this is part of the process of grooming Deputy Dan to take over as Town Administrator, the job he has sought in the past.
Here is the Monday Special Meeting agenda that has been posted on Clerkbase. We'll get you more information when we have it.
