Stop Geese!

Charlestown has been too hospitable to Canada geese,
and we must now engage in goose population control.
Here is your opportunity to learn more about our Canada Goose problem in Green Hill Pond.

Join this tour of the pond on Saturday, March 17.

Canada Geese were one item on the agenda at Monday's Town Council meeting when the environmental impact of year-round families of geese and efforts to reduce them were discussed. You can see the video here.

This Saturday at 9 am, Bill McCusker is organizing a Green Hill Pond paddle where you can see nesting sites. The tour will leave from the Ocean Ridge Civic Association (ORCA) property on Ram Island Road (I've been told it's at the end of Ram Island Road but I think there are 2 ORCA boat launch areas along Ram Island Road so it may be the other one...). Some canoes and kayaks will be available but you probably want to bring your own if you have one. If you want to contact Bill his email is here.
