Narragansett might be crazier than Charlestown. Who would have thought?

According to the Narragansett-South Kingstown Patch tonight, the Narragansett Town Council emerged from a 50 minute Executive Session with their Town Manager's resignation in their pocket.

Their grounds for doing so were even more ridiculous than those the Charlestown Town Council majority used to purge Town Administrator William DiLibero.

Their severance settlement was almost twice as generous.

And the Narragansett Town Council agreed to terms where Miller will receive almost double the amount of severance than DiLibero did - 11 months pay compared to DiLibero's six months. Like DiLibero, Miller's paid time is a mixture of severance (seven months) and unused sick leave and vacation.

Miller's principal offense was paying a budgeted and authorized expenditure out of the wrong line item. Miller approved the payment of $3000 to the Narrow River Preservation Association for river clean-up from the incorrect account. Read more here.

I have written about crazy conduct by small town government elsewhere to try to put Charlestown's crazy politics in context. Click here and here for past articles. But such out of control and out of proportion conduct so close to home is downright chilling,.
