Cast off your earthly possessions

What’s the point of accumulating so much stuff?
Coming attraction in our dark sky
By Will Collette

Now that astronomers are certain that our own Milky Way will be colliding the the Galaxy Andromeda – I’m not making this up – what’s the point in keeping a whole lot of material goods around the house? I can saw with absolute certainty that when these galaxies collide – YOU WON’T NEED THEM.

So give them to the Charlestown Democratic Town Committee (CDTC) so they can help raise money to get good people elected to office at the Charlestown Democrat’s Second Annual End of the World Tag Sale.

The sale will take place on Saturday, July 7 at Old Post Road near the corner of Genwood Drive from 8 AM till 4 PM. You can also meet the CDTC’s slate of candidates as well and sign their nomination papers.

Please donate saleable goods of any kind (seriously). Let CDTC Treasurer Frank Glista know via e-mail and he can arrange either for a drop-off time or a pick-up.

Then come to the Tag Sale on July 7. You can either buy other people’s stuff – or buy your own stuff back – we don’t care, as long as you pay cash.

We had a lot of great stuff last year – Henry Walsh’s famous duck-plucker, a boat, furniture, some really fantastic bargains as well as lots of tschotske – and a very nicely stocked and bargain-priced jewelry table.

So, Step 1: reflect on the fact that the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy are going to collide, then
Step 2: look around your house for stuff you don’t need that has some resale value.
Step 3: E-mail Frank Glista to arrange a drop-off or pick-up and
Step 4: Come to the CDTC Second Annual End of the World Tag Sale on July 7 on Old Post Road at the corner of Genwood between 8 AM and 4 PM.
