What's Happening in Charlestown - through July 7

Summer is in full swing and we have lots of activities for both our residents and our summer guests.

Get out and have fun with these suggestions. Remember to find details of time and location in our Calendar.

Mystic Aquarium Fundraiser
Yes, I know this is outside Charlestown but many of us appreciate how the Mystic Aquarium releases rescued and rehabilitated seals on the beach in Charlestown. Despite rumor's to the contrary you won't have to pack a lunch to survive the long drive to Mystic.

The Seals on the Rocks fundraiser is Friday, June 29, starting at 7 pm.

Farmers' Markets
Our regular readers will know that we have two farmers' markets in town. The Land Trust market is held in the beautiful gardens of the Church of the Holy Spirit on Friday mornings and the Cross Mills Farmers Market is held on Saturday mornings down the street across from the new Cross Mills Fire Station.

Nature walks
On Friday afternoons at 3 pm guided nature walks are held at the Kettle Pond Visitor Center.

On Saturday, June 30, at 1 pm the Kettle Pond Visitor Center is hosting a lecture and walk to suggest summer-blooming native plants that can be useful in your yard.

Music and movies
The Cross Mills Public library is holding two of their free summer concerts at 7 pm on Friday, June 29 and Friday, July 6.

On Tuesday evenings at 7 pm the Kettle Pond Visitor Center is holding a family movie night with a nature-themed film.

Tag Sale
On Saturday, July 7, the Democratic Town Committee will be holding their semiannual tag sale on Old Post Road near Genwood Drive.
