Democrats announce their endorsed candidates for 2012

New leadership for Charlestown
By Will Collette

If you mosey over to the newly redesigned website of the Charlestown Democratic Town Committee (still under construction, BTW), you’ll see their announcement of the slate of candidates who will be running on the Democratic ticket.

As previously announced, the Charlestown Dems are backing Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Rep. Jim Langevin for re-election.

(L to R) Rep. Larry Valencia (D-39), Cathie Rumsey for Senate & Donna Walsh
They are also supporting the re-election bids of Rep. Donna Walsh (District 36) and Larry Valencia (District 39) and Democratic challenger Catherine C. Rumsey for the Senate seat for District 34 which is currently held by  invisible Senator Frank Maher who, at least in theory, represents the northern part of Charlestown.

Charlestown Democrats have endorsed Paula Andersen, Tim Quillen and my Progressive Charlestown colleague Tom Ferrio for Town Council.

For Planning Commission, Charlestown Democrats support Brandon Cleary, Michael Breton, Melina Lodge and Frank Glista.

For Town Moderator, Charlestown Dems support Henry Walsh who is running unopposed.
