(News release, Providence) Rep. Donna Walsh (District 36) received the endorsement of Clean Water Action Rhode Island, the state’s leading environmental justice organization and the top ranking of “A” from the Environment Council of Rhode Island.
Rep. Walsh was one of only 16 members of the Rhode Island House of Representatives to receive Clean Water Action’s endorsement. She was also one of only 11 members of the House to receive an “A” from the Environment Council. With a score of 108 (with bonus points), her score was the highest.
“I am gratified to receive Clean Water Action’s endorsement. Throughout my public career, environmental protection has been one of my top priorities,” said Rep. Walsh. “I am also proud to have received the highest score from the Environment Council.”
“In the past several sessions of the General Assembly, I have been proud to work with Clean Water Action on legislation to require manufacturers of dangerous or difficult-to-dispose-of products to take responsibility to collect and then either recycle or safely dispose of these products.”
Rep. Walsh serves as the vice-chair of the House Environment committee. She represents House District 36, which includes all of Charlestown and Block Island as well as parts of Westerly and South Kingstown.
