Italian Night Tradition Continues
By Dave Henley, Chariho Rotary President.
RICHMOND: The Chariho Rotary Club’s annual Italian Night Dinner will be held
Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Richmond Country Club, located at 74 Sandy Pond
Road in Richmond, with continuous
seatings from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
For this fundraiser the Rotarians take over the
kitchen and the dining room, with some members cooking the delicious pasta and
meatballs or sausage and some waiting table.
An additional menu choice is Larry’s Famous Linguini
and Clam Sauce, developed from an old family recipe by Dr. Larry Dunn of
Charlestown.
The event will benefit local charities as well as
the annual Rotary Scholarships given to Chariho and Exeter-West Greenwich
students.
Tickets to the all-you-can-eat Italian Night cost
$10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and are available from any Chariho Rotarian
or at the door.
Chariho Rotary raises funds to provide assistance to
multiple charitable causes, sponsors blood drives, provides volunteers at the
RICAN food pantry, awards some $16,000 each year in scholarships, and most
recently provided labor and funds to build the Chariho High School’s new
courtyard.
Rotary Club membership represents a
cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women.
Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all
cultures, races, and creeds.
