Parks and Rec working for you

The Charlestown Parks and Recreation Department has been working hard to bring you exercise programs and other classes to keep you fit in the winter months and stimulate your mind and body.

On Saturday, February 2nd there will be a Family Mini-Golf Night at the Charlestown Elementary School Gym from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. The cost is $5 per person, fun for the whole family. Bring all of your friends! No pre-registration is necessary.

Time to keep your New Year’s resolution ad get healthy and stay healthy. We are offering the following fitness programs:
Zumba – Monday Evening 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Tai Chi – Monday Mornings 10:30 AM
Pilates – Tuesday and Thursday Evenings 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Strength and Stability – Wednesday Mornings 9:00-10:00 AM
Yoga –   Monday evenings – 6:45 PM
Tuesday Mornings – 8:30 AM
Thursday Mornings – 9:00 AM
Saturday Mornings – 8:30 AM
*All classes are $5 and there is no pre-registration necessary to join and they are held at the  Ninigret Community/Senior Center.

On Wednesday, February 13th from 2:15 – 3:15 PM there will be  free open house for youth interested in learning the art of ceramics. This will be held in a Mobile Art Trailer and will be located between the Chariho Middle School and the Chariho High School. This is a free open house open to the Chariho Middle School students and an art project will be made. Space is limited. Please contact the Charlestown Parks and Recreation Department for more information at 364-1222 to reserve a spot!

The next free Friday Night Out for 5th – 8th graders is Friday, January 25th at the Ninigret Community/Senior Center from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Bring your friends for a fun night  to get together out of the cold. No pre-registration is necessary.

The Second Session of Indoor Tennis run by Don Fair begins on Friday evenings at the Charlestown Elementary School Gym  February 15th – May 10, excluding school holidays.  The program runs for 6-9 yr. olds from 6-7 PM and 10-15 yr. olds from 7-8 PM. The fee is $95 and can be registered through the Parks and Recreation Department or online here or call Parks and Rec at 364-1222.
