Gotta scanner?

It's a popular pastime in Charlestown to listen to emergency services radio traffic with scanners.

During big storms like Sandy and this one (Nemo in case you haven't heard), when the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is humming along in the police station conference room, local ham radio operators set up a backup radio network to communicate regionally.
Here is the information for that network:.
Local Charlestown: 146.540

Repeaters
Statewide: 147.390 or 146.985 PL 67.0
Westerly: 147.24 PL 100
Westerly: 147.55 Offset – 1 MHz PL 88.5
(I'm not a radio person so I can't interpret what that all means.)
