Parks and Recreation Programs and Trips for You

Our Parks and Recreation Department has announced a great spring list of activities.

We've got a teen night out at the Community Center, an Easter Egg Hunt, a trip to Boston, another to Mohegan Sun and a great teen outing to United Skates.

Teen Night Out

There will be a Free Teen Night for 5th – 8th graders at the Ninigret Community/Senior Center on Friday, March 22 from 7 to 9 PM. Bring your friends for a fun, free night out!! Enjoy music, board games, shooting pool, etc. No reservation necessary.

Easter Egg Hunt and Meet the Easter Bunny

This fun event, for children ages 2 through 10, will be held starting at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 23. More information in this article.

Trip to United Skates

United Skates in Rumford, RI is much more than roller skating - with games, laser tag, rock-wall climbing and lots more. Parks & Rec has arranged a bus trip for teens to United Skates on Wednesday, April 17. The trip will leave at 9:15 AM and return at 1:30 PM. The cost is $25 which includes transportation, admission, skate rental and choice of laser tag or rock climbing. Bring your own lunch and drink. Learn more about United Skates here. Seal Watch Trip

Parks & Rec has another great trip planned to teens. On Friday, April 19th you can take our bus to Brandaris Maritime in Wickford  for a Creatures of the Bay/Seal Watch boat trip. The cost is $25. The trip will leave at 10 AM and return at 3 PM at Charlestown Town Hall. Bring your own lunch and drink. Learn more about Brandaris Maritime here. Preregistration is necessary, call 364-1222.

A trip for Adults!

On Friday, May 3rd our bus will depart at 10 AM from the Ninigret Community/Senior Center to the Mohegan Sun. The cost is $25 for the transportation. You will vouchers of $15 for a food credit and $15 for free bets. Seats are limited. Registration, for adults age 21 and older, is in person only at the Charlestown Parks and Recreation Department in Town Hall.
