South County Film Festival Postponed

Scheduled for all-day Friday, now postponed indefinitely

Ninigret Park was to be the site for an unusual treat on Friday – the South County Film Festival, an all-day film festival capped by a cook-out with film-makers and an awards ceremony to big-time Rhode Island-born filmmaker Michael Corrente (Federal Hill, Outside Providence, etc.).

The event promoters posted a notice saying that due to a ticket-seller glitch, the Friday event is postponed to a later date, to be announced.


The program was to be done through three blocs of films, starting at noon with local films, foreign films at 3 PM and at 6 PM, the feature film Brooklyn Rules which was made by honoree Michael Corrente.


After that, a cook-out and a chance to talk to stars and film-makers. All the proceeds were to go to Al’s Moving Minds (alsmovingminds.org), a non-profit for seniors living with moderate-stage memory loss.
