Weekend retweet alleges copyright infringement…

Partridge Family to Undergo Name Change Procedure
By Charles Townsend, The Moraine Zone Special Correspondent

It was bound to happen. Progressive Charlestown’s bloggers have gone too far.

Lawyers representing ABC, the American Broadcasting Company, have requested that Progressive Charlestown “cease and desist any/all reference to ABC’s proprietary intellectual property rights to its network production of The Partridge Family, including, but not limited to, the reproduction, alteration, and/or modification of  the Partridge Family logo.”

Progressive Charlestown editors were bemused that the internationally renowned media mogul would ever consider The Neighborhood Group Formerly Known As The Partridge Family to evoke a challenge to the concept of intellectual property rights.

“Intellectual property?” wondered occasional PC blogger Bob Yarnall. “Are you kiddin’ me? We couldn’t dumb down those stories any further if we stuffed them into dead fish and buried them in the compost heap at the CRCC in the middle of July. Gimme a break.”

Will Collette, Progressive Charlestown Editor and Co-founder, was philosophical about the literary fate of the Neighborhood Group Formerly Known As The Partridge Family.

“It’s obviously in our best interest to comply with the cease and desist request. You don’t argue with lawyers about little stuff, it’s just not worth it. We’ll just have to come up with a different personification of the hysterical personality types that bubbled up on the moraine over the course of Whalerock. We’ll figure it out.”

No longer embedded with the Illwind Coalition, I am Charles Townsend – and you’re not.
