NARRAGANSETT,
R.I. –Children ages 11 to 15 with an interest in science and the ocean are
encouraged to register for the University of Rhode Island’s first Underwater
Exploration Camp, which is scheduled to run during April vacation week, April

home with them at the end of the week.
They will also meet oceanographers and
ocean engineers, visit the Inner Space Center, and learn how audio, video and
other data from deep-sea research is transmitted around the globe via satellite
to scientists at the Inner Space Center.
The camp is limited to 15 participants, so those with an interest in registering should sign up soon. The deadline for registration is March 21. The camp costs $495 per person. It will be offered again August 11-15, 2014.
