Food waste forum on Thursday

Rhode Island College hosts event

This event will feature state Senator Cathie Cool Rumsey, who along with Rep. Donna Walsh, sponsored the legislation that passed the General Assembly and was signed by Gov. Chafee which will divert tons of food waste from land-fills. Instead, institutional food waste must either be composted or converted into bio-fuel.

Both Cathie Rumsey and Donna Walsh were defeated on November 4 by Tea Party Republicans (technically, one of them is "independent" but he's about as "independent" as the CCA Party). It is highly unlikely that either Sen.-elect Elaine Morgan (R) or Rep.-elect Fake Bilippi (I-Militia) will introduce anything like the legislation that Cathie and Donna were so good at getting passed.
