Mystic, CT: On Friday night, December 12, through the generosity of over 4,000 guests, Mystic Aquarium was able to donate 6,925 lbs. of food to the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center in New London. Along with cash donations, the contribution from Festival of Lights is equivalent to 9,140 meals.

In support of the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center, Mystic Aquarium extended complimentary admission to anyone donating a non-perishable food item.

Since 1988, the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center has played a key role in providing one of the building blocks to a good quality of life by feeding food insecure individuals and families all across the community.

The campus at Mystic Aquarium was illuminated by hundreds of luminaria as guests enjoyed exhibits, seasonal entertainment, face painters, story tellers, and a visit from Santa.

Performances by local schools included Stonington High School Chorus, Ledyard High School Carolers, Chariho High School Carolers, Montville High School Choral and Mystic Middle School Jazz Band.

Festival of Lights is a proud local holiday tradition shared by Olde Mistick Village and Mystic Aquarium.
