Happy Holidays from the Food Bank
As the New Year approaches, please accept our gratitude for supporting the Rhode Island Community Food Bank this year. By donating food and funds, attending our events, volunteering, advocating for those in need or spreading awareness about hunger in our state, you enable us to help Rhode Islanders who are truly struggling. Thank you so much for being part of the effort!

IRA Charitable Rollover Extended for 2014
IRA Charitable Rollover Extended!
The Senate just passed the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014, which includes an extension through December 31, 2014 of the IRA Charitable Rollover. President Obama is expected to sign the bill in the coming days. If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can contribute up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to a qualified charity without incurring income tax on the distribution. Congress only extended this provision through the end of 2014, so you need to act quickly to take advantage of this giving opportunity.
