NOTE: It is a federal crime under 18 U.S. Code § 871 to threaten the life
of the President. On this video taken at a recent Tea Party-organized protest,
you see and hear calls for President Obama to be hanged, slowly and painfully,
from one of the trees in Lafayette Park across from the White House.
At 1:00 of the video, one of more aggressive threats comes from a member of the Oath Keepers, a group that has been represented by Rep.-elect Flip Filippi, our new Representative in the General Assembly who says he specializes in the Constitution and civil liberties. Like the right to threaten to lynch the nation’s first African-American President? - wc

It seems that the hatefulness and racism just never stops with these right wing extremists. Every time I have hope that maybe we are making some progress with them, they prove me wrong. Every single time.
This week, on Wednesday, a group of
Tea Party protesters gathered in front of the White House to voice their
outrage at President Obama’s executive action on immigration. But instead of
keeping their focus on what they call the President’s “amnesty” plan, they
turned their rage and blatant racist attacks directly on Obama.
They proudly shouted racially
offensive chants, some of which were subsequently caught on video. And the
ironic thing is that the person videotaping this protest was actually one of
the anti-Obama protesters. They made no attempt to hide this clip. Apparently
they are quite proud of how they behaved.
During the video, you can clearly
hear one of them shout, “Hang the lying Kenyan traitor.”
Another protester yelled out,
“Plenty of trees in the front yard.” And he followed up with, “Wouldn’t be the
first one hung on one of them trees.”
And then someone else shouted,
“We’ve got rope.”
