When
the blizzard dies down later on Tuesday, many Rhode Islanders who can’t shovel
themselves out will need some help.
Fortunately,
Serve Rhode Island has a plan.
The
Storm Assistance for Elderly and Disabled (SAFE-D) program connects volunteers
with people who need support and signing up is easy.
Go HERE, fill out the form and
have a copy of your photo ID handy. Once you fill it out, someone from Serve
Rhode Island will contact you and match you with a resident in need.
Why
do they need your ID? Serve Rhode Island wants to make sure anyone they send
out to help others does not have a criminal record.
Once
you’ve filled out the form and sent a copy of your license or ID, someone will
contact you with a matched-up nearby resident to help.
