presents forensic science experts during spring lecture series

KINGSTON, R.I. –
February 12, 2015 – Breath analysis, blood spatter and drug chemistry will be
among the topics discussed during URI’s spring Forensic Science Seminar Series.
The lecture series brings experts from a variety of forensic science
specialties to URI’s Kingston campus each semester.All seminars are free and open to the public and take place on Fridays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in URI’s Pastore Hall, 51 Lower College Road, Room 124.
The speakers and their topics are as follows:
Feb. 13, David Detora, Rhode Island medical examiner, “Death Scene Investigations.”
Feb. 20, John Drugan, senior forensic chemist at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory, “Forensic Analyses and Case Studies.”
March 6, Leslie Nolan, senior forensic scientist, Rhode Island Department of Health, “Drug Chemistry.”
March 13, Laurie Olgivie, toxicology supervisor at the Rhode Island Department of Health, “Toxicology.”
March 27, Walter Williams, Warwick Police, “Blood Spatter Analysis.”
April 3, Matt Zarella, Rhode Island State Police, “K-9 Training and Searches.”
April 10, Priya Banerjee, Rhode Island state medical examiner, “The Medical Examiner’s Job.”
April 17, Peter Tytell, Forensic Research LLC, “Document Examination.”
April 24, Albert Giusti, Rhode Island Department of Health, “Breath Analysis.”
