Conservatives and ISIS

Sharia Law And The Republican War On Women
www9999

When people – who can clearly see there’s a Republican War On Women – say there’s a Republican War On Women, Republicans (male and female) quickly point out that American women should stop whining because they have it better than Middle Eastern women.

That rebuttal in and of itself is complete hogwash. Obviously, American women have it better than many women in other parts of the world, but why should they settle for anything less than full equality – in what’s supposed to be the greatest country on earth?

Why should they be grateful for earning less than men for the same work? Why should they be grateful that lawmakers are removing and eroding reproductive choice in the name of Christianity?

Why should they be grateful that a Saudi Prince – whose uncle, King Abdullah, rules Saudi Arabia under Sharia law – owns part of the Fox “News” network? Because we aren’t living under Sharia Law? This is why we’re told (by conservatives) to shut up and be grateful?

F**k that!

Someone took the time to create a meme listing the tenets of Sharia Law, so I’m posting it here. Are you able see a difference between the Republican agenda and Sharia law? Granted, Republicans are not trying to take away our drivers licenses – yet. But for how much longer?

You can read more about Sharia Law HERE.

In case you still don’t get it, please take a look at this depressing Mother Jones article titled: The War On Women is Over – AND WOMEN LOST.

The religious right gained power in both the 2010 and 2014 midterm elections because too many Americans couldn’t be bothered to vote. Read it. Weep. Then get your ass registered to vote, and make sure you get yourself to the polls for the 2016 presidential election.

This next election is so important – not only will we, as a nation, be deciding on who will lead this country, we will also be electing congressional representatives.

Remember – presidents nominate Supreme Court justices and then the Senate votes on those nominees. The Supreme Court is the highest court of the land. They vote and decide on the laws that affect you.

The Supreme Court decided that George W. Bush would be president in 2000. They also decided that gay people should have the right to marry.

So what’s it going to be? Progressive Democrats or Sharia Law Republicans? And before you complain that Democrats aren’t doing enough to win your enthusiasm, realize that you hire them, you pay their salaries and it’s up to you (and me) to hold them accountable while they’re in office.

We cannot elect them and *hope* they do a great job. We must use our collective power and let them know that if they neglect to do the job they were HIRED to do, they won’t get our support in the next election.

Voting matters.
