Come out and visit our Ninigret Park on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. to enjoy the fine early fall weather in the park and see all it has to offer our community!
Visit the attractions in the park: Little Nini Pond, the Playground, Frosty Drew Nature Center, Frosty Drew Observatory and Sky Theatre, the Dog Park, the Charlestown Senior/Community Center, the Disk Golf course and the National Wildlife Preserve with walking trails and kayak launch site into Ninigret Pond.
With special events during the Festival:
- free Yoga and Pilates
- Paddleboard Demonstrations
- Touch-a-Truck including fire trucks and others
- a car show where you can vote on the cars with music from a DJ
- a Cycling Clinic by NBX (Narragansett Bikes)
- watch the NBX bike race on the Criterium Course
- bidding on auction items
- information on the park's history as a Naval Auxiliary Air Station - see a restored dummy bomb that likely stood next to the headquarters entrance
- attend a boating safety session
- try your hand at disk golf, with assistance from some experts
- see the Community Garden
This day in the park is being presented by Friends of Ninigret Park, the Charlestown Community/Senior Center, Disc Golf, the Frosty Drew Observatory, the Ninigret Dog Park, the Economic Improvement Committee and Charlestown Parks and Recreation department.
Parking donations to Friends of Ninigret Park are welcomed, for improvements to the park, but this is a free event.
