Does it still fit? Do you ever wear it? Is it still in good shape? Get that winter coat out of your closet and back into circulation where it can do some good.

Props to the good people at Prosperity for RI who have been organizing the Buy Nothing Day Winter Coat Exchange for 19 years now.

The exchange takes place on the state house lawn opposite the mall this Friday from 9am to 1pm. It will move into the nearby Gloria Dei Church in case of rain.

You can bring your coats to this location the day of (morning would be best) or take it to one of the drop-off sites. There are, of course, no sites in Charlestown.

There are several drop-off sites around the state where you can drop off coats during the next few days.

In South Kingstown: Wakefield St. Francis Church, 114 High Street, Coats Collected and given away November 27 10AM to noon, Contact Tom Abbott 401-364-0778 dawgdays@cox.net

You can also take coats to the Bell Street Chapel off Broadway, or the East Side YMCA at Hope and Doyle. Go here for details.
