Today, stand with Planned Parenthood

Today is a national Day of Solidarity: a chance for all of us to take a stand against the dangerous rhetoric and hateful extremism that is inciting violence in our communities. Add your voice to the many who are standing up to say: Enough is enough.

After tragedies in Colorado Springs and San Bernardino, our nation is mourning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we stand with these communities as they work to heal and recover.

The Colorado Springs tragedy has shined a spotlight on an alarming increase in hateful rhetoric and smear campaigns against abortion doctors and patients, but also against Black, immigrant, refugee, and LGBTQ communities. And it is fostering an environment that breeds acts of violence.

Wherever and to whomever it happens, Americans must reject the hatred and vitriol that has fueled violence against so many in our country. The time has come to say: Enough is enough. We will always stand strong against attacks in our communities — no matter what. And that is exactly what we hope you will join us in doing this Saturday, December 5, as the Planned Parenthood family comes together all across the country for a day of solidarity.

Together we will take a stand against the dangerous rhetoric and extremism that has caused so much damage. Together, we will forge a new path forward so that we can continue to ensure all people are able to access the health care they need without fear of intimidation and violence.

As always, thank you for standing with Planned Parenthood — I hope you'll join us this Saturday.

Sincerely,
Cecile Richards, President
Planned Parenthood Federation of America
