"How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away"

I was never a fan of country music although there are lots of great crossover stars who made wonderful music. The top of that list for me is Patsy Cline.
Dan Hicks, front man for the Hot Licks, passed away last Saturday at 74. He was another innovator of country rock, but what makes his work stand out for me is his "cover" of Homer & Jethro's great "How can I miss you when you won't go away," which is on the video below.
I sing that song to myself almost every time I deal with someone who is particularly annoying, so I feel a debt to Dan Hicks and cherish his memory.
