Mystic, Conn.: In Irish folklore, a selkie is a mythological marine creature resembling a seal. While Mystic Aquarium does not feature any fabled creatures, they do provide a forever home to a number of harbor seals.
Their Animal Rescue Clinic also provides rescue and rehabilitation to a variety of seal species each year. During Ocean Blue Catering’s “Spirit of Ireland” dinner, guests can not only get in the spirit, they can also help Mystic Aquarium’s efforts to protect seals and the entire ocean planet.
A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold to the annual “Spirit of Ireland” Dinner on Saturday, March 19 from 6:00pm-10:00pm at the exquisite Mystic Yachting Center benefits Mystic Aquarium’s mission programs of conservation, education and research.
Known for their delectable menus, Ocean Blue Catering is serving up traditional Irish fare.
Menu highlights of the multi-course meal include a bangers and mash hors d’oeuvre, Guinness beef stew, a corn beef brisket carving station, stuffed sole with oyster stuffing and Dublin lawyer lobster cream sauce, and a Bailey’s Irish Crème cheesecake with Jameson Sauce dessert option.
Served alongside a flight of Irish whiskey, guests are sure to embrace the Irish spirit. With live music, “The Spirit of Ireland” dinner is the perfect cap to all the St. Patrick’s celebrations.
