Today, the New York
Times has done an in-depth new
report on how Donald Trump behaved in private with women.
It is
called “Crossing the Line: How Donald
Trump Behaved With Women in Private” and looks at his sexist, misogynist
and just creepy behavior based on first-hand interviews with women who have
interacted with him over the years.
The Times reports
that the interviews “reveal unwelcome romantic advances, unending commentary on
the female form, a shrewd reliance on ambitious women, and unsettling workplace
conduct.”
Here are 7 of the
worst moments from the piece:
- Trump took a 26-year-old model attending a party at his mansion and pressured her into putting on a swimsuit. He then brought her out to the swimming pool, pointed to her and said, “That is a stunning Trump girl, isn’t it?”
- Speaking to an overweight female executive working on the construction of his headquarters in Manhattan, Trump said, “You like your candy.”
- Temple Taggart, former Miss Utah, said Trump “kissed me directly on the lips” and she thought “Oh my God, gross.” Taggart also said, “I think there were a few other girls that he kissed on the mouth. I was like “Wow, that’s inappropriate.” He was married to Marla Maples at the time.
- Carrie Prejean, former Miss California, said Trump personally evaluated pageant contestants in swimsuits at the rehearsals for the Miss USA pageant (which he owned). She said, “He would stop in front of a girl, look her up and down, and say, ‘Hmmm.’”
- Barbara Res, Trump’s construction executive, said he would stop business discussions to bring up his sexual views. Once while discussing women from Marina del Rey, Trump said, “They take care of their asses.”
- Miss Universe, Brook Antoinette Mahealani Lee, said Trump asked her to evaluate his daughter’s looks and asked, “Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?” His daughter Ivanka was 16 at the time. Lee said she thought, “That’s just weird. She was 16. That’s creepy.”
- Trump used dismissive nicknames for women. He called them “Hon,” “Dear,” and “Honey Bunch.” Former NYC Deputy Mayor Alair A. Townsend told the paper, “It was designed to make you feel small. And he did that repeatedly.”
Trump already has huge
negatives with female voters, and since then he has attacked both Hillary
Clinton and Senator Elizabeth Warren for playing the “woman card” when they
have criticized his sexist attitudes and attacks on women.
