A celebration of Quonochontaug culture and Rhode Island customs, “Quonnie The Musical” returns to the Quonochontaug Grange for the sixth and final production in August. Full of catchy songs, hilarious jokes, and tributes to favorite summer traditions, “Quonnie The Musical” is performed by an all-ages cast.

This year’s musical will be presented August 12 and 13 at 7pm at the Quonnie Grange, 5664 Post Road in Charlestown. As always, some proceeds from the musical benefit local Quonnie nonprofits.

Each year’s scenes and songs are slightly different, but all are linked to Quonochontaug, a tiny beach hamlet in southern Charlestown, RI.

“Each year we pay homage to Rhode Island’s foods, local customs, and history,” said writer and director Eden Casteel.

"We even serenade our local beach rocks. Every year we retell the slightly scandalous tale of Quonnie’s (probably) illegal sale, and what happened later. It’s a really good story. Quonnie is full of really good stories! Our audiences and actors tell us they always learn something new and find it entertaining and fun.”

The Quonochontaug Grange is air-conditioned and wheelchair-accessible. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online by visiting www.quonniethemusical.com.
