Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) is now accepting applications for nomination to the United States Military Academies.

As a Member of Congress, Langevin has the privilege of nominating constituents to the United States Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy and the United States Air Force Academy.

“Nominating talented, hardworking, and patriotic young people to our distinguished military academies is one of my greatest privileges, and I continue to be so impressed, year after year, by the caliber of students setting forth on the path to serve and protect our nation,” said Congressman Langevin.

“As a senior member of both the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, I understand the importance of a highly-trained, capable military, and I’m proud to do my part to identify and support qualified young people who will make up the next generation of our national defense.”

Applicants must reside in the Second Congressional District and be between the ages of 17 and 23. Applications will be reviewed and interviews will be conducted by Congressman Jim Langevin and a panel of community and military leaders.

Applications for matriculation in July of 2017 are due by October 28, 2016. To ensure students’ privacy, all applications for nomination must be mailed.

Applications can be downloaded from Congressman Langevin’s website, and must be accompanied by three letters of recommendation.
