Animal Spotlight: Cownose Stingrays
Sink or swim is a true dilemma for these docile invertebrates. Characterized by their lack of a
swim bladder, an organ that helps most fish float, the cownose
stingray will actually sink if it isn't swimming. That's why you'll
see our stingrays constantly moving in Stingray Bay. They possess a
venomous spine used only for self-defense against a predator in
pursuit. While harmless when not threatened, stingrays in our Ray Touch Tent
have had their spines trimmed, allowing guests the opportunity to get
hands-on with these fascinating creatures.

With springtime on the horizon, it's time to start
planning out your perfect vegetable garden! Consider these companion plant
options to help ward off unwanted pests:
- Garlic
planted among roses will ward off aphids.
- Sage
with carrots (or other plants in the cabbage family) will ward
off pests.
- French
marigolds among tomatoes will repel greenfly and blackfly.
