Community Kitchen Grad
Teaches Others the Trade

Through Community Kitchen, the Food Bank’s culinary
job-training program, adults are trained to work in a professional
kitchen, learning food safety and other life skills necessary to
succeed on the job. In 2016, 93% of graduates secured employment in the
food and hospitality industry within three months. Recent graduate Nick
DeCamp now works teaching cooking skills to adults with disabilities.

Trinity Episcopal Church Pantry in North Scituate
|
The Food Bank provides food assistance to 59,000 Rhode
Islanders every month via a statewide network of 160 agencies. Trinity Episcopal
Church Pantry serves clients in Foster, Gloucester and Scituate. The
volunteer-run agency is open one day a week and serves more than 150
clients each month, many of whom are elderly or disabled.

Empty Bowls Featured in RI Monthly’s Out

Rhode Island Monthly recently published photos from
last fall’s Empty Bowls event where guests enjoyed delicious food and
drink and took home a beautiful handcrafted bowl. More than $88,000 was
raised to help fill empty bowls in Rhode Island. Mark your calendars
