It is time to celebrate a
year of victory and power building. This is RI Jobs with Justice chance to
honor those who make RI's Working Class stronger, and show a commitment to
building a just economy that centers people over profit. This year we will be
honoring:
Emily Jones RI
Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty. Her
work in forging the coalition into an agile and principled organization.
The worker organizers of IUPAT, LiUNA, and
the Team at Fuerza
Laboral particularly those who have worked on drives at Goodison
Shipyard in Quonset. Their brave and relentless commitment to improving the
lives and safety of all workers is a model we should all strive for.
The Step Up Coalition
this youth led organization has organized and worked for true police
accountability in Providence. The creativity and relentless adherence to
democracy and inclusion points us to a path to building a new and better
society.
Lastly but certainly not
least UFCW 328
and the workers of Eastland Foods and Bob's Tires. The leadership of UFCW shows
true vision and Working Class excellence in building a labor movement that is
intersectional and winning. Proving for one and all to see that organizing
against sexism, racism, and xenophobia builds stronger unions and resilient
workers.
Steve Tollman, President of the MA AFL-CIO will be delivering the keynote
address.
There are many different
options for attending this year. Also if you are interested in sponsoring a
