Letter Carriers Collect Food

Help Letter Carriers Collect Food Donations Saturday
Letter Carrier transporting food donations
This Saturday, May 13, local letter carriers will be collecting food for our neighbors in need as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers' annual campaign to Stamp Out Hunger. Please leave a bag of non-perishable items near your mailbox by 8:00 am. Your letter carrier will pick it up and ensure that it gets delivered to the Food Bank. Thanks for contributing!

Volunteer in a Local Community Garden
Rep. Julie Casmiro visits North Kingstown Food Pantry
The Food Bank supports a network of community gardens dedicated to growing fresh produce for Rhode Islanders in need. Located in Charlestown, Cumberland, Smithfield and Warren, the gardens rely on volunteers throughout the growing season. Last year, they delivered more than 60,000 pounds of fresh produce. If interested in getting your hands dirty and contributing to the effort, please contact one of the garden coordinators.
Truck Stop Drives in $160,000 to Help Food Bank
Guests at Truck Stop: A Festival of Street Eats
Nearly 800 people joined us late last month on a surprisingly beautiful evening for Truck Stop: A Festival of Street Eats. The April 28th outdoor event, which featured live music and fabulous food from twenty local food trucks, raised $160,000 to help us distribute healthy food to Rhode Islanders in need. Thanks for everyone who made Truck Stop such a success. If you were in attendance, check out our Facebook photo gallery and tag yourself in any photos.
