Storms over, pollen returns

After a long, wet week, a rainbow...and the return of pollen

I hope you all had a chance to see the rainbows that formed yesterday around 6 PM as the trailing edge of our string of storms pulled out of the area.

There was a double rainbow outside our windows, one a brilliant one that arced across the sky and seems to touch down on Ninigret Pond.

A second, fainter rainbow appears for a short period outside its more brilliant sibling.

Now that the National Weather Service is forecasting dry weather for the week with a varying amount of cloudiness, the trees will resume their springtime release of pollen.

Except for the possibility of some showers tonight, there should be no precipitation to tamp down the pollen counts.

If you continue reading, you will see the week's projected pollen count for Charlestown from Pollen.com.
