Thursday is World Oceans Day! Join Mystic Aquarium in Ocean Conservation.  It's time for a tidal wave of comments to support marine national monuments! Mystic Aquarium's contribution of scientific research helped secure the designation of the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts on September 14, 2016 as the first Marine National Monument in the Atlantic Ocean. Today, an Executive Order threatens to undo the protection of this and many of our nation's most cherished natural, cultural, and historic wonders. Help us reach 1 million comments to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke! Defend the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument by submitting a comment to the Department of Interior! Let your voice be heard!     Log on to https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=DOI-2017-0002-0001 Share why protection of this monument is important to you, or simply copy/paste this sentence:   I support the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument." Submit comments before July 10!  We must protect the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts, and all monuments in the ocean and on land from harm, so future generations of Americans can enjoy and benefit from them. World Oceans Day  Sat., June 10 from 10:00am to 2:00pm   Together with West Marine and BlueFuture, Mystic Aquarium salutes our ocean planet.  Learn how we can keep our oceans thriving through fun activities including scavenger hunts, crafts, hands-on activities, and more!  Nature Play in the Green: Mud Day    Sat., June 10 from 10:00am to 12:00pm          Join us at the Sea School Green for fun and engaging  activities including painting with mud, making mud pies and just getting muddy!   Horseshoe Crab Watch: Full Moon   Sat., June 10 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm Get your feet wet with this family-friendly night-time event at Bluff Point State Park in Groton, CT. Learn the role these "living fossils" play in our ecosystem. $5 per person.  Registration required. Fiddle in the Field Fri., June 16 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm Tap your feet to the beat of a fun-filled musical afternoon featuring Fiddle n' Fun musicians. Join us on the Sea School Green and engage your children in a melodic musical education designed just for them.
