Wood River Health Services received recognition this week from the Heath Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the federal division of the Dept. of Health and Human Services that administers the Community Health Center program, that it had been named a Health Center Quality Leader.
The award, according to a letter from HRSA chief George Sigounas, reflects the health center's rankings in Clinical Quality Measures among the 1,400 health centers that operate 11,000 sites throughout the country.
"For more than 50 years, health centers have
delivered affordable, accessible, cost-effective, and quality primary health
care to patients regardless of their ability to pay," Sigounas noted.
"Health centers advance a model of coordinated, comprehensive, and patient-centered care, integrating a wide range of medical, dental, mental health, substance use disorder, and patient support services. "
