Celebrity Chefs Raise
$195,000 at Savor Event
In support of the Food Bank’s Community Kitchen culinary job training program, celebrity chefs Jacques Pépin, Sara Moulton, James Wayman, Ming Tsai, Rick Moonen, Matthew MacCartney, and Champe Speidel came together for a spectacular evening at Newport Vineyards last Thursday. In addition to wonderful food created by our celebrity chefs, which was paired with world class wines, guests enjoyed a beautiful evening at the vineyard with live music, auctions and dessert. Last week’s Savor event was a collaboration with the Jacques Pépin Foundation whose mission is enriching lives and strengthening communities through the power of culinary education. The Food Bank’s Community Kitchen culinary job training program shares the same mission, making the collaboration a natural fit. Check out this video which highlights how the unique partnership is changing the lives of low-income and unemployed Rhode Islanders.

Community Kitchen, the Food Bank's 14 week culinary job training program, has been preparing adults for work in the culinary field for the past 20 years. Hundreds of graduates have achieved success in the food industry after completing the program.
