Thank you, summer visitors
It's a pretty day today in Charlestown. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping. The roads are filled with our annual onslaught of visitors from New York and Connecticut who hopefully bring their money to spend at local businesses, but also bring increased vehicular volume.
And that means more bad air.
I followed one Connecticut driver yesterday in a golden pumpkin colored Hummer (didn't know they were still a thing) as he cruised into Charlestown from Westerly.
The worst in the state, if you look at the data above.
According to the forecast, the air quality should drop back into the "Good" level on Wednesday.
Pollen counts are thankfully in the "low-medium"range.
