On Tuesday, New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood announced that her office had secured an agreement in court for the Trump Foundation to dissolve:

We’ve secured a stipulation requiring the Trump Foundation to dissolve under judicial supervision, with our review of recipient charities.

The Foundation functioned as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s interests. Our lawsuit remains ongoing….

Today’s stipulation accomplishes a key piece of the relief sought in our lawsuit earlier this year. Under the terms, the Foundation can only distribute its remaining charitable assets to reputable organizations that we have approved. https://on.ny.gov/2LvaHbr...

This is an important victory for the rule of law. There is one set of rules for everyone.

We’ll continue to move our suit forward to ensure that the Trump Foundation and its directors are held accountable for their clear and repeated violations of state and federal law.

The Trump Foundation, which is also the focus of a tax investigation that reportedly may result in criminal charges, has come under fire for using charitable money for Trump's personal benefit, including to buy expensive portraits of himself and even settle litigation against his for-profit businesses.
